Roads. Where we're going, we don't need roads.

Well, I mean, I do. I'm no Doc Brown. Nor am I a seasoned camper. Or backpacker. I'm not even a lightly-salted camper. Or backpacker. Well, I did ASM Wet Hot American Summer: The Play? But that only got me partial credentials of a camper at Camp Firewood.

Annnnyway.

This is a short one. Because I am literally writing this post with minutes to spare, before embarking on the next chapter of, well, to be hyper dramatic, my life.

Since coming back from my UK trip, I knew in my heart I needed to go digital nomad full time. So for the past 4 weeks, I have been preparing to do that. I have sold my furniture, packed and sorted through my things (jeez louise, when did I collect so much stuff?), bought what I needed for a long term digital nomad trip, said goodbye to my books and my family - and here I am.

Let me tell you, that was a stressful 4 weeks. But I made it. I made it to my dream. I am here. I left Northern California on Monday night at 11:30pm. I spent the rest of that early morning in Bakersfield where I visited Jai (my sister)'s grave and left the rocks I'd been collecting for her from my travels around the world. I popped over to Martin's Deli and Meats to visit Audrey Chavez, a social justice activist that moves mountains and creates change. Then I made my way down to Long Beach for a final stop before departing on the road.

And here I am - currently at the last tech rehearsal intermission of Rent to catch my friend's show before I leave town. Then I have a 5 1/2 hour drive to Lake Havasu - the beginning of the unknown portion of my digital nomad journey.

Over the next two weeks I will be driving across the country, with stops for landmarks, hikes, and most importantly, friends. I'll be posting as I go, and doing my best to keep my friends and family updated. Keep an eye out for a new JericaTravels Instagram and Facebook page, along with a website revamp. I'll also continue posting blogs on here. Although I have struggled to create a regular habit, I have loved the posts I've done so far, and look forward to the future writings I have planned. The habit will come, I think, as I settle into my new life on the road.

God, I'm excited for the stars in Lake Havasu and the Grand Canyon.

'Til then everybody - you'll find me creating adventures and staring open mouthed at the the expansive beauty of our world. As Poppy from the Rings of Power sings, "Not all who wonder or wander are lost."

My heart.
